I can't believe it has been almost twelve weeks since Charlie started with YWAM HOLA in Mexico City. As his Discipleship Training School immersive training phase comes to an end, he is looking forward with excitement to two outreach opportunities.
YWAM outreach is an opportunity for students to share the gospel and engage in mercy ministry and service projects. Charlie and his group will be traveling first to Oaxaca in Southern Mexico. Oaxaca is a place of rural landscapes and native culture.
From there the group will split and while some students move to other places, Charlie will be traveling with a team to Berlin (Germany) and then on to Israel. While in all those locations they will be teaming up with ministries who seek to share the light of the Gospel with populations and cultures living in darkness.
When I think of Berlin, I am reminded of the wall that physically and ideologically divided Berlin until 1989 when it was torn down piece by piece. In a similar way, the wall of Jerusalem (built mostly for protection) has been overtaken, crumbled, and rebuilt many times through history.
As I reflect on conversations with Charlie, I am living into what he is learning. God is so good! He breaks the walls of sin. "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Please continue to pray for safety, for sleep, and that the Lord will use this group to spread His Glory.
