"It's an honor"

"It's an honor" - That is what sticks with me about our conversation with Charlie yesterday (Sunday, May 1). To serve God, to share the work of the Spirit and the Good News of the Gospel..."It's an honor". Charlie is so right on with those words!

Charlie and his YWAM group have been serving in two places in Oaxaca, Mexico. The first was a beautiful town near the ocean and now they are serving with a local church three hours North (a trip made in the back of a pickup!). Charlie said the church they are working with comes together in some way every day. Charlie knows all about the blessing of a church family having grown up at Bauer CRC where we are so blessed to be a family! But now he is seeing it at a new level. Their group was even invited to celebrate a church-members wedding this past weekend.

The Lord is using Charlie and his group in big ways. They have been involved in preaching, teaching, casting demons, and laying on hands of healing. I have to admit, those last two spiritual gifts are practices I'm not familiar (or maybe even comfortable) with, but God is Majesty and Mercy beyond my own comprehension and I am able to rest in the shadow (Psalm 91).

A request for prayer: The next leg of their journey will take the group through Amsterdam where new Covid restrictions require a transit visa even for an airport layover. Please pray for that process to go well. It is complicated and dynamic and they are just not sure what to expect. it seems there may be different restrictions depending on Country of Origin and perhaps citizenship too. Just pray that it will go unexpectedly well so the group is able to see the hand of God at work again!

Here is a picture of Charlie from our Facetime yesterday. His eyes look tired, but check out that fun Mexican shirt (and big smile) ;)
