Life in Mexico City is much the same in many ways. Charlie is very busy, learning a lot, enjoying churros, and overall just loving the time he is spending there. Over the past two weeks the YWAM group Charlie is with has been focused on fundraising (more to come on that later). Charlie was feeling really compelled to help out his classmates, but a little directionless with how he might help and who he might help.
The bombs in Ukraine shook him to reality. One of his classmates with YWAM HOLA is from Ukraine. Her family is reported to be sleeping in a subway terminal as they live in a city under direct attack. She also received word that her brother has been summoned to serve in the armed forces there. As you can imagine, Elizabeth is overwrought with concern for her family and friends safety. Due to the unrest within her hometown, she does not have anyone left to contact from her church family for fundraising. We will be coming alongside her in assistance. First, and foremost, please pray for Elizabeth, her family, her home church, and her country during this time of difficulty. There will be a more formal "ask" for financial assistance for Elizabeth coming sometime soon. We just have to figure out some details.
Thank you for your continued prayer and care. (below is a photo of
